Many students have complained about it being difficult to make friends due to the lack of social activities at Baruch. To resolve this issue, a social networking platform/application designed for Baruch students should solve the issue. It is a platform where students are automatically put into a group when they are enrolled in the same class. On top of the basic communication chats, there could be more functions such as a public announcement page for all campus activities, campus news, public safety information, and emergency announcements. Since Baruch is a commuter school, all that would change the dynamic of Baruch’s social life. Therefore, it would promote students to exchange ideas and share information willingly. Even though the existing Blackboard system allows students to connect with each other, its functions are limited and it is not user friendly. In addition, by utilizing social networking technology to create an app for students at Baruch college, it would also make students become closer.
