Creativity and New Media

New media is unlike traditional media that has many constraints, such as low flexibility, high cost, and a limited reach. New media allows people to spread information and resources cheaply to more people. The ad that I have created using AdMaker is an example of creativity fostered by new media. Anyone can create an ad by using AdMaker to create an advertising campaign to convey their message. People can put their own creative ideas on the design of their promotional campaign and decide how to show their audience the promotion. What I have done is making a promotional ad for the New Media course from Baruch College. Then, I can use this image to post on many popular social networks to make more people aware of the promotion. Therefore, new media fosters creativity by allowing people to create contents for free and share it on the internet.

This website allows user to create free custom ads and promotions. You can choose the background, text, layout, color, and size to fully customize your own ads.

Blog: Advice

Many students have complained about it being difficult to make friends due to the lack of social activities at Baruch. To resolve this issue, a social networking platform/application designed for Baruch students should solve the issue. It is a platform where students are automatically put into a group when they are enrolled in the same class. Even though the existing Blackboard system allows students to connect with each other, its functions are limited and it is not user friendly. In addition, by utilizing social networking technology to create an app for student...

Social networking services has completely changed the way people interact, socialize, and express with each other. Now, people can interact through a variety of social networking services, such as Facebook , Instagram , and Twitter . These services allow people to connect through online chats and video calls. Social media is a great platform for people to instantly connect with each other and has brought us many benefits. However, the cost of these benefits result in the end of our privacy. As the internet becomes more accessible, any person with internet access can have some type of online profile of themselves. Many types of online services even require you to have a profile containing sensitive information — shopping, banking, and healthcare. Furthermore, it is not just you who possess your online information, it is everyone else on the web....

Blog: Wiki So Far

I have done research on privacy issues that arise from new media. I plan to contribute more content about the recent Facebook data breach, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in EU law.  In addition, I plan to include additional privacy tips on various social networking websites to help readers protect their information.
